Does reverse osmosis really make clearer ice?

Yes. Cloudiness is dissolved solids and trapped air freezing into the cube. RO removes most of the dissolved solids before the water ever reaches the evaporator, which is why hotel and cocktail programs specify it.

Is RO overkill for a normal restaurant?

Sometimes. If your water is moderate, scale inhibition and carbon filtration may be all you need. We recommend RO when the test results or the beverage program justify it.

TDS, hardness and pressure at the tap determine membrane sizing, blend ratio and whether storage and repressurization are needed.

Membranes, storage tank and pump matched to throughput so the RO keeps up with peak instead of running dry mid-service.

Blend valves are set for taste and scale control — fully stripped water is not always what you want feeding a beverage program.
